Skytrax, a UK-based organization that specializes in assessing and ranking global airlines and airports, recently released its list of the top 100 airports worldwide for 2024, determined based on the votes of millions of international travelers. This survey is conducted annually and this year’s data was collected from August 2023 to March 2024.
Participants from 100 different countries took part in the survey, evaluating various aspects of airport facilities including security checkpoints, airport terminal services, staff attitudes, and the quality and variety of food and beverages. In this year, Vietnam has two airports that have made it into the Top 100: Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, marking its sixth inclusion, and Da Nang International Airport, which is listed for the first time and is the largest in the Central region.
Last year, Noi Bai’s service quality has greatly improved by adding device charging areas, offering free wifi with children’s play areas. It also enhanced infrastructure to accommodate people with disabilities and boosted its information technology capabilities to handle the increasing number of passengers, which exceeded the airport’s designed capacity.
This surge in service quality seems to have paid off! After being absent from the list in 2023, Noi Bai Airport returned to the Top 100 in a strong showing, claiming the 96th position and marking its 6th time on the list. Meanwhile, Da Nang International Airport makes its debut at a remarkable 94th place, climbing 17 spots compared to last year.
